JJ SignedMutual Agreement with Singapore's Temasek Polytechnic College


- It is continuing its steps for Glocal University by promising to strengthen and revitalize substantially global exchanges. -



Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) announced that it held an agreement ceremony with Singapore's Temasek Polytechnic Collegeto strengthen mutual cooperation at the Jeonju University headquarters on February 20 (Tuesday).


Temasek Polytechnic College, one of Singapore's top five national polytechnic universities, and Jeonju University, a hub private university representing Jeonbuk, signed an agreement today to strengthen education and research cooperation between the two schools.


The signing ceremony was held at the university's main building with 10 officials, including Jeonju University President Park Jin-bae and the Institute of International Exchange Director Je Hye-geum, visiting Jeonju University in person by Peter Lam, president of Singapore's Temasek Polytechnic College, and Lim Teng Leng, director of the International Exchange Institute.


This agreement was made for the purpose of mutual development in the field of educational exchange and research by jointly promoting academic research, exchange programs, and exchange between students and professors.


Specific major cooperation includes joint programs such as hotel management, business management, traditional food cooking and fashion, mutual understanding through student-professor exchange programs, international experiences, and mutual credit recognition agreements.


In 2022, Temasek Polytechnic Collegesuccessfully conducted two-week short-term training at Jeonju University's Hotel Management Department under a partnership agreement with Jeonju University's Culture and Tourism University, and this agreement will expand the scope of its activities this year, with 27 Singaporean students visiting Jeonju University for short-term training in March.


Peter Lam, president of Singapore's Temasek Polytechnic Collegesaid, "Cooperation with Jeonju University in Jeonju City, Korea's traditional cultural capital, will provide a broader worldview for Temasek Polytechnic students, and I am confident that combining the strengths of these two schools will contribute to fostering talented people who will lead future industries."


President Park Jin-bae of Jeonju University said,The cooperation with Singapore's National Temasek Polytechnic Collegewill be of great help to Jeonju University's internationalization efforts, and we will continue to strive to become a glocal university by fostering global competitive talents through cooperation between the two schools and laying the groundwork for internationalization in education and research.


On the other hand, Jeonju University has opened and operated an English track department that offers 100% English classes centered on the Department of Hotel Management, English Literature, and Art Psychotherapy as a preparation to establish specific plans and actively implement internationalization.
