JJ IT Finance Department Holds Jeonbuk Big Data Technology Exchange Joint Research Group

- Efforts Are Made to Foster Convergence Talents in the Big Data Feld in Cooperation with Related Organizations in the Province -

Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) announced that the 42nd Jeonbuk Big Data Technology Exchange Joint Research Group was held at the Recital Hall of the Art Center on the 10th.

Jeonbuk Big Data Technology Exchange Joint Research Group is a regular monthly meeting since February 2020 to foster a new growth foundation for local companies through big data information exchange and technological cooperation with the participation of private, public, academic, and research institutes in the region.

The seminar was co-hosted by Jeonju University's IT Finance Department, Jeonbuk Techno Park, Jeonbuk National University LINC 3.0 Project Group and Big Data Innovation Convergence University Project Group. It was hosted by the Jeonbuk Big Data Technology Exchange Joint Research Group, and more than 60 people participated, including the National Pension Service, central and local governments, public institutions, universities, private companies and students from Jeonju University's IT finance department

The first topic for technology exchange in the big data field is "Data Privacy for the Use of AI and Big Data," announced by Kim Dong-rye, vice president of Easycerti, a company specializing in personal information protection. It examined domestic and international policies on the processing of personal information alias, technology trends, and major revisions to guidelines, and introduced technology development activities for data privacy.

The second topic was explained by Director Ok Min-cheol of Naver Cloud about Naver's Korean-style super-scale AI, HyperCLOVA, and introduced the current status of technology development and services of super-scale AI provided by the Naver Cloud platform. As we looked at the changes in the work of various industries brought about by super-scale AI, we could expect a change in the future business paradigm.

Meanwhile, before the start of the research group, a briefing session on the first Jeonbuk Youth Big Data Competition was held for Jeonju University students in 2023 that is being promoted with the aim of discovering ideas and current issues for fostering digital youth talents and spreading data utilization culture for university students, middle and high school students in Jeonbuk.

Professor Kim Hyun-jung of the IT Finance Department said, "In accordance with the Ministry of Education's policy to establish a high-tech department, the IT Finance Department is conducting cooperation activities with related organizations in and out of the province, including the National Pension Service, Jeonbuk Bank, and the Korea Fintech Support Center through the Jeonbuk Big Data Technology Exchange Joint Research Group." She also said, "In the future, we will strive to cultivate 'convergence talents' with capabilities optimized for the recent financial environment, revitalizing the information, technology exchange and data economy in the big data sector in the province."
