Jeonju National University was selected as the highest grade A for the second consecutive year of the Ministry of Education's university innovation support project.

Jeonju University has strategically promoted the university's autonomous innovation plan with about 15 billion won in state support for three years since it was selected as the only university in Jeonbuk for the 2018 university innovation support project.

This evaluation was conducted with a qualitative and quantitative evaluation based on the 2nd year project and the comprehensive performance of 3 years for 131 schools eligible for type I (autonomous improvement university) support. Jeonju University has established a framework for realizing the university's development goal of "student success," big data-based student support, and decision-making system, and has received the highest rating as a result of systematically operating various education and industry-academic cooperation programs.

In particular, considering the university's mid- to long-term development plan and regional-based characteristics, the goal of the innovation support project was set as "a university leading student success and regional innovation growth" and a big data-based education support system was established. Also, it was evaluated that the achievements by establishing a student learning-oriented class innovation, student-led career design, and value-sharing regional innovation ecosystem have achieved practical results that can contribute to the development of local communities and countries.

Hong Soon-jik, president of Jeonju University, said, "We are creating successful cases of educational innovation in Jeonju University through curriculum development, teaching and learning support, and student success support." He also said, "In the newly launched project in 2022, we will improve the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the program through continuous communication with students and faculty, and create an educational system that satisfies students, communities, and the state."
