Hyundai Motor Company, JJ’s Department of Mechanical Automotive Engineering Donation of Educational Practical Electric Vehicles


Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) announced that it received an educational training electric vehicle from Hyundai Motor's Jeonju High-Tech Center and held a donation ceremony in front of the university's main building on the afternoon of the 18소 with officials from both organizations attending.


The vehicle, which is used for education for students in the Department of Mechanical Automotive Engineering, is a 2018 Kona EV model and donated educational vehicles to foster talented people related to electric vehicles. This is Hyundai Motor's second donation of educational practice vehicles this year after March (STARIA).


Hyundai Motor's Jeonju plant (factory manager Lim Man-kyu) expressed his thoughts on the donation, "I hope that continuous industry-academic cooperation will help the foundation for training electric vehicle professionals.”


Park Jin-bae (President of Jeonju University) said “Through this donation, we hope that our university and Hyundai Motor will realize regional development and ESG management together through continuous cooperation and exchange. We hope that we will continue to grow together through continuous industry-academic cooperation for regional development.”


Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor's Jeonju plant is the world's largest eco-friendly commercial vehicle production facility and has an independent production system that can range from the development of large trucks and buses to the production of finished vehicles. It is also equipped with an engine plant, a material plant, a truck/bus production plant, a driving test site, and a delivery center. The Jeonju plant includes a bus factory, a trucks factory (1,2,3), a material factory, and an engine factory.


Won Jong-seop (Director, The Department of Mechanical Automotive Engineering) said, "We expect that the donated practical electric vehicles will greatly help students acquire expertise in electric vehicles," adding, "We will devote more and more to fostering professionals."
