JJ's Department of Hotel Management and San Diego State University Signed a MOU.

-Signing MOU for English Track Revitalization and International Exchange-


Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with San Diego State University.


Jeonju University's Department of Hotel Management announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with San Diego State University's International Exchange Center at 11 a.m. on March 28 ahead of the opening of the English track in September.


The Department of Hotel Management agreed with the San Diego State University International Exchange Center to actively conduct international exchanges, including cultural exchanges such as students (undergraduate and graduate students), professor exchanges, and short-term student training.



Brian, director of the San Diego State University International Exchange Center, said at the signing ceremony, "The recent Korean Wave is also great in American society." He also said, "I think it is a good opportunity for our San Diego university students to experience Korean culture in person and look forward to active exchanges with Jeonju University."



Shim Young-guk, a professor of hotel management at Jeonju University who prepares English tracks with San Diego State University, said, "Our department will open and operate full-fledged English tracks from September this year." He also said, "To this end, we are actively promoting mutual exchange activities with overseas partner universities along with recruiting English-speaking students, including the United States."



After the signing ceremony, Brian Blake, a director of the San Diego State University International Exchange Center, gave a special lecture on "Hotel Trends and Hotel Management Strategies around the world" to students in the Department of Hotel Management at Jeonju University.


Brian said in a special lecture, "Let's become a hotelier with a global mind and an active spirit of challenge and grow together as a global talent leading the hotel industry." He also said, "In that regard, the opening of an English track with Jeonju University's Department of Hotel Management is drawing keen attention from various universities and hospitality industries in North America."



Brian is a top experienced and practical educator in the U.S. hotel tourism industry who served as deputy general manager of Porte Hotel in the U.S. and general manager of Acro Group North America, vice president of Treegild Group, and education advisor of Marriott Group.


Michael, a professor of hotel management at Jeonju University, said, "Brian, director of San Diego State University, is very interested in hotel field education for students from both institutions because he has a lot of experience working in hotels in North America. This is entirely in line with the direction our department is pursuing."


San Diego State University, founded in 1897 is well-known as a prestigious university in California, consisting of seven colleges, including the College of Business, the College of Arts, and the College of Vocational Research.


Jeonju University's Department of Hotel Management will actively engage in international exchanges such as student, professor, and cultural exchanges after opening an English track with San Diego State University's Hospitality & Tourism Management department.


Jeonju University's Department of Hotel Management has completed the current curriculum, securing additional foreign professors from native speakers, and opening an English track website to open an English track. In addition, it is collaborating with Jeonju University's International Exchange Center to recruit students around the world to recruit consultants from Asia, North America, and Europe.
