Jeonju University's Realistic Media Innovation Sharing University Project Group announced on the 26th that it opened "X-ValueUp Space" as a metaverse social living lab space for solving social problems.

Through this space construction, it will be used as a maker's face to carry out realistic media practical projects and convergence projects and support various PBL (Project Based Learning education and start-up activities for students.

Despite the rainy weather, about 70 students, including dean, faculty, and students of each university, including Jeonju University President Park Jin-bae, Education Minister Hwang In-soo, Vice Foreign Minister Hong Sung-deok, and Graduate School President Jeon Yong-seok, participated in the opening of the X-ValueUp Space.

The newly opened X-ValueUp Space consists of a total of five spaces, including two practice buildings, one craft experience room, one sound room, and one office, for the purpose of the realistic media innovation sharing university project. These spaces will be used as 24-hour open project and practice spaces for students, realistic content and prototyping and start-up spaces, space for research on sounds of regional specialization, and space for student counseling and operation support.

In the future, it plans to build the same-sized 5 rooms on the second floor and make it an experimental space for students and a project space specializing in realistic media, and furthermore, it will be shared not only by university members but also by local companies or institutions.

Han Dong-sung, head of Jeonju University's Realistic Media Innovation Sharing University Project Group, said, "We look forward to activities in this space that transform ideas into reality while preparing for the metaverse era by freely discussing, researching, and experimenting with them." He also said, "I am confident that every student I meet in this space will grow into the best realistic media talent of this era."

Meanwhile, Jeonju University's Realistic Media Innovation and Sharing University Project was selected as the participating university of the Ministry of Education and received a total budget of 81.6 billion for 6 years to foster professionals in the real media field along with Konkuk University, Kyunghee University, Keimyung University, Baejae University, and Chungang University.
