With Theonnuri Church and the sponsorship of Plus Construction, I had time to feel the Korean holiday culture and affection.

Jeonju University (President Lee Ho-in) held a songpyeon sharing event for international students on Friday. The event, which involved some 700 students from Vietnam, China and Mongolia, was held at graduate schools, international education centers and star center squares.

On the same day, the international students tasted the Korean holiday culture and affection by tasting Songpyeon and Sikhye, which were provided with the support of Theonnuri Church and Plus Construction.

"I was very curious about the shape and taste of Songpyeon." said Phamdantai, 21, who came from Vietnam. I'm happy to have a chance to taste real Songpyeon like this. I thank the international students for their interest and love," Phamdantai said.

Jeonju University has 1,700 students (including training, undergraduate and graduate schools) from 19 countries. The school has held sharing events such as Songpyeon and rice cake soup, along with demonstrations of folk games such as yut nori, jegi chagi and tuho for international students every Chuseok and New Year holidays. However, this year's Chuseok holiday skipped a folk game demonstration due to the Corona 19.

Ryu In-pyeong, president of Jeonju National University's Institute of International Exchange, said, "We have been holding cultural events every year for Korean holiday students who have been far away from their hometowns and are in a lonely situation. But I'm sorry that I can't afford to do that by Corona 19 this year," he said. "Instead, we've organized a small but warm food sharing event with the attention and support of communities and institutions.“
