Jeonju University Has Selected as the “2019 Youth Dream College,” Excellent Support for Employment and Career Guidance
Jeonju University (University president Hoin Lee) has selected as the ‘2019 Youth Dream College’ and was recognized for its outstanding achievements in employment, start-ups, and career guidance. The ‘Youth Dream College,’ which began in 2013 (biennially from 2015), is organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Employment Information Service, and the DongA Ilbo to assess how actively universities support students’ employment and start-ups and how effectively they operate their career guidance systems.
This year, among 224 four-year universities, 46 universities, including Jeonju University, were selected as final ‘Youth Dream Universities’ through a survey on students’ satisfaction with information on human, physical, and educational support and employment and start-up achievement disclosed in the ‘University Notification.’
‘Youth Dream University’ is a system that comprehensively checks the university’s policy of employment and start-up, detailed programs, personnel and organization, services, and cooperative system. It means that the university has excellent programs designed for the policy of supporting and managing start-ups, is rich in material and human element, and has a high student satisfaction.
The director of student employment in Jeonju University, Gyuncheol Park said that “We are actively supporting students to discover their career paths and improve quality of their lives by focusing on ‘student’s success’ beyond their employment and start-ups. We will not only provide services to meet the needs and perspectives of students, but also try to communicate and accompany with them.”
Meanwhile, Jeonju University is running a regular employment, start-up, and career guidance programs in close with students. Career and counseling experts hold a ‘Career guidance seminar’ every week for all students, and campus life advisors (CA), assigned to each college, are available for students to get consult at any time.
In addition, Jeonju University provides personalized career path and employment support services by introducing employment support programs (SsakSu, KkumSu, Ddamsu) for each academic year, specialized career training program (Star T Program), and professional courses by occupation.
