Young kwon Kim, Graduated Jeonju University, Led to a 2-0 Victory over Germany

Young kwon Kim, Graduated Jeonju University, Led to a 2-0 Victory over Germany

 

In the 2018 World Cup Russia, Young kwon Kim (28·Guangzhou Evergrande) who graduated Jeonju university scored the first goal leading Korea to a 2-0 victory against Germany.

On June 27 (local time), Young kwon Kim scored a dramatic goal against Germany in the final third round of group F of the 2018 World Cup Russia and created a twist by defeating Germany that ranked the first in the world.

When Korea get the corner kick chance, Young kwon Kim did not miss the ball that was hit by a German defender and kicked the ball into the German goal.

Jeonju university soccer analysis team evaluated the game by saying that “Against Germany, Korean players showed ‘running a lot, more, with fighting spirit in the soccer’ which Koreans wanted to see. Based on the 4-4-2 formation, they formed a defensive team with 5-4-1 when the opponent owned the ball and crossed the half line.”

Then, it praised Young kwon Kim from Jeonju university, “Young kwon Kim participated in the attack on a corner kick and calmly scored the goal.”

Young kwon Kim was born in Jeonju and went through Haesung middle school and Jeonju high school to improve his skills. Then, his splendid soccer career began after enrolled in Jeonju university. When he was a freshman, he led the team to the second place in the 2008 spring college league soccer tournament.

He played in the U-20 World Cup as a member of the Korean national team in 2009 and contributed to achieve the bronze medal in London Olympic in 2012. Young kwon Kim also received a love call from the professional soccer. He joined Japan FC Tokyo in 2010, went through Omiya, and joined the Guangzhou Eberland FC in China in 2012.

The head coach of Jeonju university soccer team, Jin hyuk Jung said that “Despite of the poor conditions, Yeong kwon Kim was a player who followed his leader or coach and made sincere efforts. I thought he will be a great player who can reach the top someday.”

Unfortunately, the Korean national team was dropped out in the round of 16, but Young kwon Kim won the best victory in his soccer history.

Young kwon Kim said that “It has been so hard for 4 years, but I think it got a little better through this World Cup. From now on, I will sacrifice and develop for Korean soccer.”
