Course Description
Introduction to Music Therapy This course introduces students the theories, principles and applications of music therapy with reference points in many areas of psychology, and psychology of music and therapy.
Developmental Psychology This course introduces developmental psychology. Developmental psychology, also known as human development, is the scientific study of systematic psychological changes that occur in human beings over the course of their life span. Originally concerned with infants and children, the field has expanded to include adolescence, adult development, aging, and the entire life span. In this course, students will learn both typical development and abnormal development.
Expressive Arts Therapies & Techniques This course provides essential explorations and experiences of expressive arts materials in clinical practice.
Introduction to Dance/Movement Therapy This course introduces students the theories, principles, and application of dance/movement therapy with references points in many areas of psychology, and psychology of dance and human movement.

Introduction to Expressive Arts Therapies This course is to study the history of expressive arts therapies through Fine Art from Ancient Age to these days with the view of the history of Fine Art. Students will investigate how the expressions and their meanings have been changed according to the sociocultural backgrounds.
Clinical ImprovisationⅠ-Guitar This course provides essential guitar techniques for improvisations in music therapy sessions.
Understanding of Arts This course is devoted to acquiring basic knowledge of music, musical terminology and comprehensive understanding of art.
Introduction to Psychology This course introduces the major psychological concepts and principles.

Music Therapy Assessment & Evaluation This course provides assessment and evaluation skills using music and musical activities in music therapy.
Expressive Arts Therapies for Children with Special Needs This course deals with art class for typically developing children, and then expressive arts therapies with children, including principles and processes in working with various population and possible approaches in both typically and atypically developing children.
Music Therapy for Children with Special Needs This course provides exposure to various approaches of music education in typically developing children, and then introduces therapeutic approaches for atypically developing children.
Expressive Arts Therapies For Children This course provides intensive explorations techniques for improvisations in expressive arts therapies sessions.

Creative Arts Therapy Clinical Practice & Supervision (1) Practical experience of creative arts therapy gained through a minimum of 16-week clinical practice with weekly supervision. Students are to experience with various populations such as children, adults and elderly.
Group Creative Arts Therapy (1) The purpose of this course is to promote students’ insights on themselves and their relationships with others through creative arts therapy experiences in group settings.
Counseling Psychology This course introduces students theories and practices of counselling in order to promote students’ abilities of verbal applications.
Advanced Clinical Improvisation This course provides practical techniques in clinical improvisations in music therapy.

Dance/Movement Therapy Techniques This course introduces various models and methods in Dance/Movement Therapy in order to enhance students’ ability to apply effective clinical skills depending on the client’s needs.
Expressive Arts Therapies Case Study This course deals with essential part of arts therapy in clinical practice by involving students to present their own case in their clinical placement in order to enhance their understanding and insights in dealing with clinical phenomena and issues. This includes background of institution and patient, referral, assessment, treatment plan, goals and objectives, treatment, evaluation and ending in expressive arts therapies.

Understanding of Children with Special Needs This course focuses on students’ comprehensive understanding of children with developmental disabilities and professional Interventions to support their growth.
Music Therapy Field Internship & Supervision (1) This is the most advanced level of clinical training. Clinical Placement Internship (1), (2) can be only carried out if students completed Clinical Practice and Supervision (1), (2). Internship requires no less than 1000 hours.

Education & Counseling for Parents of Children with Special Needs This course introduces the theories and principles of parent education and counseling in order to enhance students’ ability to apply effective clinical skills. In this course will learn parents’ role in the development of healthy growth for children based on the assumption that psychological disorders and problems are caused by parent incompatibility.
Movement Observation & Assessment This course focuses on one of the core principles of Laban Movement Analysis which is consist of Body, Effort, Space, and Shape. This class will prepare the student to develop skills for observing, documenting, assessing human movement behaviors.
