The First Fruits of the Global Hotel Group Recruitment-Linked Talent Training Program


  Thirty hotel management students who completed the Marriott Hotel curriculum received certificates.



Jeonju University announced on the 17th that global hotel group Korea Marriott delivered the certificate to 30 hotel management students at Jeonju University who completed the hotel's talent training curriculum.


As a result, Jeonju University's Department of Hotel Management and Korea Marriott Hotel Group signed a business agreement on April 29 and the recruitment-linked talent training program, which was launched, came to fruition for the first time.


Marriott Hotel Group is the best global hotel group with world-class hotels, including 35 domestic hotels such as JW Marriott, Marriott Courtyard and Sheraton.


The ceremony was attended by Hwang In-soo, the minister of education of Jeonju University, Shim Young-guk, dean of the College of Culture and Tourism, Ahn Se-gil, Lim Hyun-jung, Michael and Kapio professor of hotel management. In addition, as a representative of the hotel, JW Marriott, head of Dongdaemun Square Hotel Shin Bong-kwon, attended and shared joy.


Students who participated in the program have completed a total of 48 hours of curriculum specially prepared by Marriott Hotel Group, including job learning and hotel practical experiences of major departments, career development to grow into a global hotelier, the 4th Industrial Revolution, and hotel response strategy seminar in the New Normal era. Students who completed the Marriott Hotel Group's education received preferential employment benefits from joining the Marriott Hotel Group.


Song Ha-young (3rd grade), a hotel management student at Jeonju University, said, "It became a vivid and realistic education because the people who work at the hotel site gave specific lectures with practical contents and examples."


Shin Bong-kwon, head of the personnel department at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Hotel, who conducted the Marriott curriculum, said, "The hotel management students at Jeonju University, who were educated by our hotel group, were talented people with the personality and language skills necessary for hoteliers." He also said, "They completed the curriculum well without one falling behind, and they had excellent qualifications as a prospective hotelier."


Professor Ahn Se-gil, head of the hotel management department at Jeonju University, said, "The hotel management department is recognized for its excellence as a preliminary hotelier at home and abroad due to a fruitful curriculum centered on practice and 80% English classes." He also said, "In the future, we will further strengthen our cooperation system with global hotel groups such as special lectures on the duties of incumbent employees, field training, and internships for students."


Meanwhile, Jeonju University's Department of Hotel Management has not only been very active in domestic hotels since its opening in 2000, but also the cumulative number of overseas employment, which began in 2006, is currently reaching 339, drawing great attention from the hotel industry.
