Jeonju University's 13th and 14th President Lee Ho-in's Farewell Service

Jeonju National University held the 13th and 14th President Lee Ho-in's farewell ceremony at 11 a.m. on August 20 at the Star Center Onnuri Hall. The event was held online and offline to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and was held as a farewell service in accordance with the "realization of Christian spirit."


The farewell service began with the prayer of senior pastor Kim Dong-gun of Jeonju Joongbu Church, and said in a sermon titled "The Life of Righteous People" by Hong Jeong-gil, chairman of Shindonga Academy (senior pastor of Namseoul Eunhye Church), "I would like to thank the faculty members for their leadership."


President Lee Ho-in said in his farewell speech, "I've been proud to do my best every moment to fulfill my heavy responsibility as president, but I'm sorry that I could have done better today." He also said, "I sincerely ask all members of the university to work together in their respective positions toward common goals."


President Lee Ho-in is said to have received good results three times in the university structural reform evaluation during his eight years of office, performed well in many government financial support projects, and worked hard for communication, harmony, student success, and prestigious Christian history.


President Lee Ho-in received a doctorate degree from the Austin Campus of the University of Texas at Seoul National University through his bachelor's degree and master's degree. Major careers include Seoul National University Vice President, Korea Photocatalytic Research Association First Chairman, Korea Industrial Chemical Association Chairman, and Korea Chemical Association President, and are currently honorary professors at Seoul National University and senior members of the Korea Institute of Engineering. For 30 years, he was awarded the Order of Science and Technology Creation for establishing a convergence academic system by incorporating applied chemistry into the field of industrial catalyst, and was elected as a member of the University National Academy in 2014.
