Jeonju University held a campaign to promote students' safe personal mobility devices (electric kickboards, etc.) and related laws and regulations that will be revised and enforced from the 13th.

Jeonju University promoted a campaign to establish a safe culture of using electric kickboards organized by the student council and the student support office on the 4th. Jeonju University conducted a joint campaign with Jeonju City and Wansan Police Station on the 6th.

Jeonju University has been promoting safety rules for using electric kickboards through online and offline channels such as videos, card news, and banners. From the 13th, the revised Road Traffic Act on Personal Mobile devices (PM) will be enforced and fines will be imposed accordingly, and campaigns will be organized and carried out to prevent confusion among students.

The student council distributed promotional materials on electric kickboards and explained the revised law. In addition, the student council encouraged students to participate by conducting quiz events related to safety rules for using electric kickboards and providing free gifts. The quiz event was also held online, attracting many students' attention.

When the new law is enforced, a second-class motor bicycle license must be obtained to ride an electric kickboard, and rules such as wearing a safety helmet, prohibiting felllow passenger and drunk driving, not passing sidewalks, and complying with safety speeds of less than 20km/h on campus must be followed.

An official from Jeonju University said that related departments and student councils will continue to conduct guidance activities to comply with related laws and establish a safe culture of using electric kickboards early. In addition, officials who participated in the joint campaign at Jeonju City and Wansan Police Station agreed to continue to interact with Jeonju University and carry out safety campaigns, expressing gratitude for the students' active participation in the campaign.

Hong Sung-deok, head of the student employment department, said, "Electric kickboards give students a lot of advantages as a convenient means of transportation, but the most important thing is the user's 'safety'. He also said, "We will create an environment where all members of the school can safely move around the campus, and promote and guide compliance with safety rules through continuous campaigns and promotional activities."
