Hotel officials, including the general manager of the top five-star hotel Sofitel Ambassador, which opens in Jamsil, Seoul, visited Jeonju University's hotel management department to hire large-scale new hoteliers. Amid a warm wind in the hotel tourism industry due to the corona vaccine effect, young people preparing to get a job in the industry have also been given a green light.

On the 20th, Sofitel Ambassador General Manager, HR Team Leader, Department Head and Team Leader conducted on-site job interviews at Jeonju University's Hotel Management Department. Sofitel Ambassador is looking to hire 500 new employees ahead of its opening in September. This is in contrast to industries that stopped hiring or reduced hiring last year.

Hotel officials believe that the positive impact of the Corona 19 vaccine will revitalize the tourism market in Korea as well as in many foreign countries from the second half of this year. Hotel officials also said that the number of domestic tourists has already increased in the first half of the year, and the hotel tourism industry in Jeollabuk-do has also entered a recovery phase.

On-site job interviews were conducted in the form of face-to-face interviews with Sofitel Ambassador executives for about 20 fourth-year hotel management students at Jeonju University. In the atmosphere of revitalization of the hotel industry, a brighter and softer atmosphere continued than ever.

Cho Min-sook, general manager of Sofitel Ambassador, said, "Jeonju University's hotel management students are highly anticipated because there are many very sincere students with knowledge of hotels as well as language skills that act as important factors in practice." She also said, "We expect positive news for the job market, which has been rigid due to the strong recovery of the hotel tourism industry."

Shim Young-guk, a professor at the College of Culture and Tourism, said, "The job market in the hotel tourism sector, which had been dampened by Corona 19, is reviving, and this on-site job interview is giving hope not only to our university students but also to young people in Jeollabuk-do." He also said, "We are conducting practical and language education in conjunction with hotels and universities at home and abroad so that students can have employment skills in line with post-corona."

Jeonju University's Department of Hotel Management is conducting all major subjects in English in line with globalization and improving students' practical skills through field practice and internships. Since 2006, up to 314 students have entered overseas hotels such as Singapore, and graduates are working as professional hoteliers in large domestic and foreign hotel chains.
