JJ University Wrestling Club, 39 th Presidential the National Wrestling Competition, ranked 2nd in the team competition.

Jeonju University Wrestling Team (Director Park Jin-kyu) won three gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals in the 39 th Presidential National Wrestling Competition University’s Greco-Roman Style and ranked 2nd in the team competition.


Kang Hyun-soo (87kg), a senior of athletic prescription department at Jeonju University, Lee Hyo-jin (63kg), and a freshman Jung Sang-yeon (82kg) won gold medals at the 39th Presidential National Wrestling Competition held in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do for seven days from March 25 to 31.


It is unusual for a relatively inexperienced freshman player to win the championship, and Jung Sang-yeon showed off her excellent performance by winning the final 5-1 victory over Busan Kyungsung University player by winning four points with front neck spinning skills.. 


Kwon Jung-yul (97kg), Yoon Gun-hyung (87kg), a senior, won silver medals, Jung Woong-kyu (77kg), and Yoon Yoo-min (67kg), a junior, won bronze medals.


Kang Hyun-soo, a senior of athletic prescription department at Jeonju University, said, "I thought it was my last chance before joining the unemployment team, and I tried desperately by exercising steadily and managing my diet even during other people's breaks." He also said, "I want to continue to be faithful to the basics, win the rest of the year in the short term, play for the actual task team in the long term and participate in the Olympics,"


"In addition to basic physical training, we focused on psychological training, such as developing mental strength so that players can find stability and reduce ups and downs," said Park Jin-kyu, director of Jeonju National University. He also said, "I'm glad that the results of the director, coach and players' trust and sweat together have paid off well."


Meanwhile, Kim Min-joon, a sports prescription major, is expected to participate in the "2021 Asian Senior Championships" held from April 12 to 17.
