Support for fingerprinting for issuing foreigner registration cards in Jeonju Immigration Office

Jeonju University (President Lee Ho-in) announced on the 13th that it has implemented 'visiting mobile immigration services' with the support of Jeonju Immigration and Foreign Office(Director Shim Joon-sub).

The event, which took place on the same day, carried out fingerprinting on 150 new international students who entered Korea to issue certificates for international students under the Ministry of Justice's guidelines for visa issuance and stay management.

"We were able to come to Korea a year later because of the indefinite suspension of flights by Corona 19," Yeo Bong, a Chinese international student said. "We plan to enjoy studying abroad by following the law and order through foreign registration today."

An official from Jeonju Immigration and Foreign Affairs Office said, "We have provided this service for the convenience of complaints from international students who are unable to visit administrative agencies due to the prevention of the spread of Corona 19. We also agreed to actively cooperate in supporting the stay of international students when requested by universities."

Professor Kim Byung-ki of Jeonju University (Director of the International Exchange Center) said, "We will contribute to making it a good city to study abroad by overhauling the system so that international students who visit our hometown will not be inconvenienced through cooperation between government and private schools."

At Jeonju University, about 1,600 foreign students, including China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Thailand and Myanmar, are studying at Korean language training, undergraduate and graduate schools. In 2015, it was selected as a certified university for internationalization of education by the Ministry of Education and has maintained its status so far.
