JJ Signs Friendship Agreement with Jilin Industrial and Commercial University


-Expectation of inter-university student exchange and academic activities-


Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) held an online signing ceremony for a friendship agreement with China's Jilin University of Commerce and Industry (President ZHANG YUEJIE) on the 20th.


Jilin Industrial and Commercial University was opened in Changchun, Jilin Province, China in 1958 and is a national university with 15,000 students on three campuses in China. It is a university recognized for its excellence in food production in China, including two food-related education test centers and Jilin Provincial Food Production Teacher Training Center.


Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to promote exchanges of faculty and researchers, mutual credit recognition for exchange students, joint development of research programs, and mutual exchange of academic material publications and information.


Lee jung-sang, a professor of Jeonju University, who attended the signing ceremony, said, "Our university's department of bio-functional food is one of the few special departments in Korea that study both engineering aspects of food itself and the nutritional aspects after humans eat food.” He also said “He is pleased that this learing opportunity was opened to students at Jilin Industrial and Commercial University”.


Park Jin-bae, Jeonju University President said, "We hope that Jeonju University, the home of food, which has various departments related to food such as Korean cuisine, restaurant industry, and bio-food based on regional characteristics will produce many talented people needed in the world through cooperation with Jilin Industrial and Commercial University, which is recognized for its excellence in food development."


On the other hand, the both university dispatched exchange students through this friendly agreement to lay the foundation for mutual credit, and plans to expand exchanges both university by establishing a joint department and linking bachelor’s and master's degrees.
