Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) said on the 6th that it held a "Host Family" ceremony to form a Korean family with international students under the theme of "A Better World Together."

The event was organized to create a community in which six families of Jeonju Jangdong Church (Minister Kim Tae-young) and six international students became related under the name of family, communicating with each other and living together. Jeonju University has supported 200 international students and community members over the past five years.

Jeonju University's host family does not live together like homestay, but it has become a channel of opportunities for international students connected to Korean families to communicate and grow together like families so that they can adapt well to Korean life and experience the culture of other countries.

Park Yong-cheol (Deokjin-gu, Jeonju-si), who had a relationship with a Cambodian student this time, said, "I hope that an international student like my son will be a little helpful in achieving his dream, and it will be a good opportunity to understand each other's culture." He also said “I would faithfully play the role of parents until the he returned home after graduation.”

Je Hye-geum, Professor of the International Exchange Institute, said, "I sincerely appreciate the families in the region who encourage international students with warm hearts. The model of international student management with the community will help boost the local economy while enhancing understanding of Korean society. The model of managing international students with the community will not only enhance understanding of Korean society but also contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”

Meanwhile, Jeonju University International Exchange Institute supports employment in Korea after graduation through 1:1 job consulting, field trips to industries, and job competency education for international students.
