Jeonju University (President Park Jin-bae) said that during the winter vacation, senior international students ran a five-week project to help their juniors improve their Korean language skills.

About 30 international students participated in the project, which began in December last year. Under the guidance of senior international students, international students are intensively conducting study group activities, special lectures, and mock tests to improve their Korean language for five weeks until the 28th.

The purpose of this project is to pass the 86th Test of Proficiency in Korea (TOPIK) organized by the National Institute of International Education under the Ministry of Education on January 29, and scholarships will be paid according to the results.

"I felt rewarded to have the opportunity to teach my juniors the Korean language study methods and knowledge that I had accumulated. It is expected that there will be good results for all of us who studied hard." said Jjan Tai Sun (Department of Business Administration), who participated as a senior international student.

Professor Je Hye-geum said, "It was a meaningful opportunity to teach students who did not return to their home countries during the vacation and experience and wisdom of senior students who already scored high in the Test of Proficiency in Korea (TOPIK)." She also said, "It's the first project, but we will continue to revitalize and actively support various ways to improve the Korean language skills of international students."

Meanwhile, Jeonju University plans to foster global talent with globalization capabilities through life support, academic support, self-development support, and career employment support as a focus support program for international students in 2023.
