Jeonju University-Korea Radiographers Association Signs Agreement to Open a Local Training Center for Ultrasonic Wave Specialization Education

A "local training center for ultrasonic wave specialization education " will be established at Jeonju University to improve radiologists' ability to test clinical ultrasonography and foster radiologists specializing in ultrasound.

Jeonju University (President Lee Ho-in) announced on the 27th that it signed an agreement with the Korean Radiographers Association (Chairman Cho Young-ki) at the university's main building to open a local training center for ultrasonic wave specialization education.

Ultrasonic wave specialist training was conducted only at the Central Training Institute (Director Noh Ji-sook) under the Korea Radiologists Association, so it was difficult for local radiologists to participate. However, a "local training center for ultrasonic wave specialization education" was established in Jeonju University, and ultrasound courses such as upper abdominal ultrasonography, heart ultrasonography, and musculoskeletal ultrasonography were operated on a regular basis, allowing radiologists in Jeollabukdo to have more systematic and complete specialized education.

In a memorandum of understanding(MOU), Jeonju University and the Korean Radiographers Association agreed to cooperate in improving the quality of human resources and opening a graduate school course for sound wave spelcialization education to revitalize local training institutes, and making efforts to find jobs for those who complete the course.

Under the agreement, Jeonju University will open a graduate school specializing in ultrasonic education to run a degree course linked to the specialized education course of the Korea Radiographers Association and provide scholarships.

Choi Ji-won, a professor of radiology at Jeonju University, said, "It seems that excellent education and research facilities and faculty members of Jeonju University's radiology department played a decisive role in the selection of local training institutes." She also said, "We will strive to foster excellent radiologists and play a leading role in the research and technological development of radiology through cooperation with the association."
