Professor Hyunjin Park in Jeonju University, Published A Series of Academic Books on Korean Language Education

Professor Hyunjin Park of the Korean language and literature department at Jeonju University (Chancellor Hoin Lee) recently published two ‘academic books on Korean language education’ in succession for foreigners. The two published books contain efficient Korean language learning methods and practical guidelines for university and graduate level language learners.
In 「Korean Language Education and Critical Literacy」, it sought various ways to induce international students to understand not only the Korean language but also Korean society and culture as a whole. In particular, it is considered very useful in stimulating the interest of Korean language learners by offering education utilizing literary works.
「A Study on Reading and Writing for Academic Purpose Korean Learners」provides practical guidelines for teaching university-level learners by analyzing the anxiety factors that international students experience when reading and writing Korean and presenting solutions through various examples.
Professor Park’s recent academic books are the major research achievement that contributes to the academic utilization and globalization of Korean language. Moreover, it is also expected to be of great help to establish Korean language education policies for universities that are actively seeking to attract international students.
Professor Park is an on-site expert who has taught Korean language to international students around the world for more than 10 years at the international language institute in Korea University and other institutes. She has been carrying out research projects organized by the Ministry of Education for five consecutive years from 2016 to this year, and has been training Korean language education experts through four weeks of intern at foreign universities as the head of Jeonju University Korean Language and Literature Department Specialization Project.
Meanwhile, the department of Korean Language and Literature in Jeonju University is the only university in North Jeolla province that operates a training course for Korean language teachers, and has produced about 20 qualified Korean language teachers every year since 2016.
