Jeonju University-Ceragem-Jesus Hospital Agreement ‘Creating Bio Health Ecosystem’
Jeonju University (Chancellor Hoin Lee) signed a work agreement with Ceragem (CEO Jaegeun Lee) and Jesus Hospital (Hospital Director Chulseung Kim) on 19th with the essential ‘development of new medical devices and clinical research’ at the Jesus Hospital’s David John Seel Memorial Hall and has started to create a bio-health ecosystem in North Jeolla Province. On this day, the signing ceremony was held in the presence of about 30 officials from the three organizations, including the vice foreign minister of Jeonju University Doohyun Ryu, the CEO of Ceragem Jaegeun Lee, and the Jesus hospital director Chulseung Kim.
Under the memorandum of understanding signed on this day, three organizations will cooperate in clinical proceedings related to new medical devices and existing medical devices, as well as in seeking development of cutting-edge medical devices and sharing ideas in line with the foundation of state-run projects, and in conducting seminars for research on the development of medical devices and joint development projects.
Doohyun Ryu, the vice foreign minister of Jeonju University, said that “The agreement laid the foundation to create synergy with Ceragem’s excellent technology, Jesus Hospital’s medical infrastructure, and Jeonju University’s clinical research abilities, and through mutual cooperation, we will develop new medical devices and expand the foundation for clinical research.”
The bio-health sector is a high potential future business with the government’s plan of 4 trillion won investment by 2025 and economic experts’ prediction of 4 percent growth rate.
Through the agreement on this day, Jeonju University, Ceragem, and Jesus hospital plan to develop IoT, big data, and blockchain-based new medical devices and establish a clinical research system.
An official at Jeonju University said that they can expand the research and development of medical devices and clinical research bases in North Jeolla Province through joint research of industry, education, and disease, and secure competitiveness in related industries and create jobs.
Meanwhile, Jeonju University-Ceragem-Jesus hospital jointly participated in the clinical trial of ‘Ceragem master V3 spinal thermal medical device,’ and on February 4, Ceragem Experience Center was opened at the Jesus hospital with Ceragem’s donation.
