Completion of the Third Jeonju-Haiphong Korean Speaking Contest
The Korea Institute of International Exchange (director In-pyeong Ryu) held ‘the third Korean Speaking Contest in Jeonju University Haiphong Korean Language School,’ in Haiphong, Vietnam on the last 13th.
About 250 Vietnamese students who learned Korean before entering Jeonju University participated in this contest, and 14 students advanced to the finals through the preliminary rounds of the contest under the elementary theme of ‘My Dream’ and the intermediate theme of ‘How to Learn Korean.’
Participants have freely shown off their Korean language skills learned at the Jeonju University Korean language school in Haiphong, Vietnam. Also, students’ talent show, lucky draw, and Korean cooking experience were held to experience Korean language and culture.
Hyuk-joo Lee, the head of the international exchange support office, said that “The Korean Speaking Contest has become an opportunity to naturally spread Korean language and culture to Vietnamese students. It is effective in promoting Korea and Jeonju University by publicizing the excellence of Korean and Korean culture abroad and attracting talented new students.”
