Jeonju University, on last 12th, signed an agreement MOA with eight Vietnamese colleges, including Hai duong College of Industry and Trade and College of Technology II, to operate education programs to foster global talent.

The ceremony was held with the director of education Do Van Giang of Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor, the director of Dongnai College of High Technology, Le Anh Duc, the director of Hochiminh City Industry and Trade College, Bui Manh Tuan,  presidents of six other universities in Vietnam, and about 30 officials from each institution, including the president Hoin Lee of Joenju University and the head of the International Exchange Center, Yinpyeong Ryu.

The MOA signed on the same day calls for the operation of a ‘2+2 program between Jeonju University and Vietnam’s specialized colleges.’ Vietnamese students will complete their majors at local schools in Vietnam during the first and second years of college, while third and fourth year of college will be spent in Jeonju University learning Korean language and related major education. Students who have completed all of the courses will receive diplomas from Vietnamese colleges and Jeonju university at the same time.

Through this agreement, Jeonju University and eight Vietnamese colleges are expected to accelerate international cooperation such as educational curriculum and academic·research exchanges, and foster global talent that meets human resources needs of multinational companies such as Samsung and LG that have entered the Vietnamese labor market through language education, problem solving, and customized practice.

The president of Jeonju University, Hoin Lee said “Demand for Korean language and Korean technical education is greatly increasing in Vietnam. By operating a joint curriculum with Vietnamese universities and exchanging human and physical resources, we will establish a bridgehead for cooperation in education between Korea and Vietnam and foster Korean-Vietnam global talent.”

Meanwhile, Jeonju University is the only Korean university that signs an agreement with Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor on human resources development and is striving to foster global talent that contributes to the joint academic exchanges between Korea and Vietnam and the development of both countries.
