LINC+ enterprise organization in Jeonju University (the president, Hoin Lee) opened HATCH Lounge, a space for cultivating the creative convergence type talents, at the Culture and Tourism College in order to promote the cultural and tourism industry and spread its value in the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
HATCH Lounge is an open 4IR educational experience space designed to expand cooperation between industry and education. Starting with the Star Center Library, it was also established at the College of Culture and Tourism, following the College of Engineering, the College of Medicine, the College of Culture, and the College of Humanities.
Built on the first floor of the Regional Innovation Center, the HATCH Lounge of the College of Culture and Tourism has expanded industry-educational cooperation to the humanities sector under the concept of ‘the coexistence of new paradigm in the era of the fourth industrial revolution’ and has constructed various spaces for experimentation, interest, and healing to help students’ creative thinking.
The HATCH Lounge of the College of Culture and Tourism will be integrated and operated with the existing HATCH station and LINC+ Lab Space, and is planned to be operated in the form of a one-stop platform where students can learn about creativity, constructing ideas, designing models, planning, and marketing at once.
The head of LINC+ enterprise organization, Song Ju said that “By establishing the industry-academic innovation brand as ‘HATCH’, we will do our best to establish a sustainable industrial-academic cooperation system for the colleges and cultivate the creative convergence type talents.”
Meanwhile, in recognition of its contribution in revitalizing industry-academic cooperation, Jeonju University has won the best rating in Honam region and Jeju Island in the second-phase evaluation of the LINC+, and has been selected for the fourth industrial revolution innovation college project, while running various academic programs to cultivate talents.
