Taekwondo Performance Team, All in China to ‘Promote Jeolabuk-do·Taekowndo’

- North Jeolla Province-China Jiangsu celebrated 25th anniversary of starting close relationship, promote tourism product and Taekwondo in North Jeolla Province-

Taekwondo performance team in Jeonju University presents various high-level taekwondo demonstrations around Jiangsu in China for three days from June 25, informing Chinese people the excellence of tourism products and taekwondo in North Jeolla Province.

Hajin Song a governer of North Jeolla Provicne, representatives of North Jeolla Province’s parliament, travel agencies dedicated to North Jeolla Province, and the department of taekwondo in Jeonju University have visited Jiangsu in China to promote North Jeolla tourism products and local specialty sport taekwondo, marking the 25th anniversary of the close relationship between North Jeolla Province and Jiangsu, China.

With the splendid performance of Taekwondo performance team in Jeonju University, the “25th anniversary of the close relationship between North Jeolla Province and Jiangsu, China” event has begun. The delegation from North Jeolla Province introduces the excellence of Jeollabuk-do culture and tourism products that allow to experience it to Chinese people, while the taekwondo performance team in Jeonju University focuses Chinese public’s attention and capture even their hearts with taekwondo demonstration and “Saulabbey” performances.

Chinese audience give an exclamation for various high-level demonstrations by Jeonju University taekwondo performance team and cheer and praise the touching “Saulabbey” performance.

Sook-kyung Lee, a professor of Taekwondo performance team in Jeonju University, said “Jeonju University’s department of taekwondo is a taekwondo performance focused department and is the world’s best demonstration team, which holds the trophy every year starting from the 2014 World Taekwondo Hanmadang. Through Taekwondo, we will promote Jeollabukdo to the world and try to promote the local economy by attracting tourists.”

Meanwhile, the department of taekwondo in Jeonju University (Professor Kwang-geun Choi) has also been selected for “Wellness-EduNet project”, the regional strategy characterization project, and is developing its own taekwondo content to promote the culture for students in vulnerable and multicultural families in the province. As part of the university innovation support program, it is also trying to communicate and connect local people, local government, industry, and universities through taekwondo by operating ‘Taekwondo Wellness Care’ and ‘Taekwondo Physical Education Program’ that can develop a child’s body and personality.
