Jeonju University, Activate Scholarship Business to Train Youth Star Entrepreneurs

- Award a total of 530 million won in scholarships for seven years from 2012 to activate business start-up -

In order to foster young star entrepreneurs and promote their will to start their own business, Jeonju University held an event to award the foundation mileage scholarship for the second semester of 2018 academic year at the main building of Jeonju University on the 12th of the last month.

At the event, 52 business foundation scholars, including Joon il Bong (28) who majored in tourism and management, received 45 million won worth of scholarship. This year alone, 155 students were awarded 120 million won in entrepreneurship scholarship.

Jeonju University startup support organization provided a total of 530 million won in entrepreneurship scholarship for 7 years from 2012 to promote an atmosphere to establish a business and encourage entrepreneurship.

Students can participate in various entrepreneurial activities such as taking a start-up lecture, joining in start-up club organizations, and participating in start-up contests, receive mileage, and receive scholarships for entrepreneurship according to the accumulated mileage.

The head of the startup support organization, professor Jeong a Joo said that “We will train young entrepreneurs who have an entrepreneurial spirit and challenging spirit by creating an environment in which they can challenge their entrepreneurship, and will continue to provide full support for their entrepreneurial activities.”

Meanwhile, since 2011, Jeonju University has been selected as the ‘Leading University in Start-up’ by the Ministry of Small and Medium Business, and has been the only selected university in the Honam region for eight consecutive years.
