Department of Industrial Design, Implementation of Foreign Traditional Culture Experience in China

The KCID (Korean Culture based Industrial Design) based on traditional culture conducted the overseas tour in Shanghai, China for four days from November 11 to 14.

Korean Culture based Industrial Design, selected by the Education Ministry’s University for Creative Korea(CK-1), has a vision of fostering industrial design based on traditional culture. This overseas tour was conducted to experience and investigate various designs reflecting the local identity and cultural characteristics.

Prior to this overseas tour, 23 students from the department of industrial design who had participated in this overseas tour organized a pre-research meeting and conducted the pre-research on the areas of ‘4IR case comparison,’ ‘fourth industrial-based product case,’ ‘public culture design,’ and ‘street lighting and furniture study’ by forming four teams. They plan to complete the research using data collected from this overseas tour.
