Fashion Industry Department, Operate Global Capacity Building Vietnam Training Program

Fashion industry department (department head, Hyun-Jung Park) held the Vietnam training program for eight days and six nights from the last 14 to 21.

This training, which was conducted with support from Jeonju International Exchange Institute and the Korea Technology Valuation Association (the dean, Gihyeon Jo), was first established in February 2017 under the project name of  'JJ-AO DAI CONNECT'. It has been the third time in a close relationship with a Vietnamese textile fashion company.

The training team consisting of two leading professors of fashion industry department (Professor Hyun-Jeong Park and Professor Jeong-a Joo) and 17 students conducted a study on Korean textile trade and business, and Vietnamese history, culture, and textile fashion industry, prior to the training program.

In this training program, they could see and experience the process of fabric production, sewing, printing, and processing by visiting the Vietnamese government agencies such as VITAS(Vietnam Textile & Apparel Association) and FADIN(Vietnam Fashion Design Institute), HANSAE VN, Samsung S-PRINT’s Vietnamese corporation, and local company Binh Minh Garment JSC.

In particular, Jeonju University’s fashion industry department also signed a new MOU with HCMUTE after HUTECH, and also had a meaningful time of exchanging major programs between both professors and students. In addition, they also conducted various programs to understand the overall Vietnamese fashion industry through visits to the AoZai museum and fashion show, local traditional markets, and visits to luxury goods shops.

Through this training, students could have an opportunity to enhance their understanding of the global fashion industry and the possibility of overseas internships.
