“I am healthy in Korea.” Free Care Service for International Students in Jeonju University

- Jeonju university-Yaesu hospital, provided medical service for the international students -

Jeonju university held ‘free health care service for international students’ with People for Medical Cooperation International (PMCI) in Yaesu hospital.

On this day, seven professional medical staffs, including professor Jin woong Cho from PMCI, and 20 volunteers from nursing and medical community attended this service. About 60 students, who participated in this medical treatment through advance booking, got simple treatments including internal medicine, surgery, rehabilitation surgery, gynecology, thyroid and ultrasound, and blood tests.

Jeonju university has created this opportunity for the health promotion and treatment for international students who practically struggle to receive medical treatment. A professional medical team will regularly visit the school for medical treatment every month.

The international student in Jeonju university, Younsoon (China) said that “I am happy to check my health with the help from the university and the local hospital, since international students do not go to the hospital unless we are seriously ill.”

The president of Jeonju university, Hoin Lee said that “since the international students had difficulty in receiving proper medical care for various reasons, I want to say thank you to the medical staffs from Yaesu hospital who gave health and love to them.”
