Department of Industrial Engineering
Industrial engineering is a field of study that harmonizes and directs all sectors that constitutes the industry system. The industry is an organic complex body resulting from sophisticated entanglement of human, resources, facility, capital, and information. The objective of industrial engineering is to improve the operation of such elements, for them to more efficiently support the system and process tasks in ways better than yesterday, in this age of rapidly changing technology.
Therefore, the department deals with expert knowledge for design, installation and enhancement of the system, and aims to foster experts who are capable of seeing the tree and the forest at the same time, so that he/she may render their opinions upon the entire system, while extensively understanding the working mechanisms of the complex system, both in parts and as a whole.
The main curriculum of Industrial Engineering consists of OR (Operation Research), manufacturing and management, human and aesthetic engineering, quality management and quality engineering, TPM, determinism, and information systems.
Hanji Culture & Industry
To accede and develop the tradition and excellence of Hanji culture, research for new materials for Hanji, with aims to industrialize and propose new designs more suitable for the modern society. The Department of Industrial Design is a discipline that studies the sciences of visual design and industrial design (metal, wood, textiles). In the visual design sector, teaching digital printing and multimedia design, design of images, effective-ness of visual messages, and media use in designs are the main elements of the curriculum. Industrial design is divided into three major practical disciplines: metal design (craftsmanship, polishing), woodworking (woodcraft, polishing), and textiles (weaving, dyeing, textile fashion, etc.). The curriculum also consists of design education on new materials, com-puter, design information theory, design engineering, as well as design marketing, design methodology, design manage-ment and business, design administration, etc., teaching students of the manufacturing process of design in the 21st cen-tury of information industry.
In particular, the department has also installed curriculum for those who have already graduated and are in the design industry or had had hands-on experience in the field, to learn about industrial design, high-grade technique, and training centers.
Suzuki School of Talented Studies
At the Suzuki School of Talented Studies, children can learn to cultivate their creativity and emotions naturally, as if learning their mother language, through music. This educational method has been practiced in more than 59 countries, and has fostered millions of human resources worldwide for the past 60 years (One of the most noted success: Venezuela El Sistema, and Sarah Chang). This method of education is reared by the Korean government, and has been extremely effective in fostering individuals and experts outstanding in their abilities of sensitivity and concentration.
